What Should I Expect on My First Visit?

Your first visit will consist of a 55 minute comprehensive evaluation. Your medical history and your current condition will be discussed with your physical therapist. You will be evaluated and assessed and your goals will be discussed. A collaborative plan between you and your therapist will be established to determine the frequency of your continued care.

What Should I Wear?

Loose-fitting clothing is recommended and prefered to allow for the entire body to be assessed if necessary. Women are also advised to wear a sports bra or tank top.

Do I need a Doctor's Prescription for Physical Therapy?

No. Georgia is a Direct Access State allowing Physical Therapists to evaluate and treat your condition for up to 21 days without a doctor’s prescription.  After 21 days or eight visits from the initiation of a physical therapy plan of intervention, your Physical Therapist must receive a referral from your physician in order for you to resume care.
